About Page

This will be the 9th year the Unionville Thresherman’s Grounds hosts an automotive event of this style. There are some major changes happening this year. Why the Symco Shake-Up?

Despite the outward success of the previous years, the UTC decided to head in a new direction to preserve this unique event that everyone has grown to love. There can only be one Symco, and it is here in Symco, WI.

While they are no strangers to hosting an event, the UTC realized the amount of effort a show this size requires. They reached out to familiar faces who have managed the event all along. It was an easy transition, as the majority of our staff are veterans from previous years. We are looking forward to honoring Symco’s hotrod heritage. We are moving this event in a more positive direction. You will appreciate our online pre-registration process. Every campsite and swap space is labeled. As you arrive on the grounds, you will notice our new and improved VIP parking. Our VIP section is for pre 1975 vehicles not meeting strict show criteria. Along with our show criteria, we also have vintage camping critera. We want to encourage people to share their vintage iron!

Only 1964 or earlier vehicles meeting strict show criteria will be allowed on the main grounds. This is to preserve the unique atmosphere of Unionville. Upon arrival, all show vehicles are subject to inspection. Our criteria at Symco Hotrods and Kustoms is simple and logical. Part of this show is for traditional styled cars. If you cannot find an example of a car in an issue of the Little Pages or HotRod Magazine from 1948 – 1964, it probably doesn’t meet those traditional standards. The inspectors are not judging your vehicle. They are checking for style or equipment manufactured after 1964. The gate inspectors will have the final say of what passes inspection. Please be respectful of our gate inspectors, as these guys have a very difficult job.

Our show grounds feature 30 acres of camping with limited electrical hook-ups. Pre-registration is highly recommended to reserve your spot. We have over 150 swap spaces available, also with limited electrical hook-ups.

We are a mid-century automotive event. We ask that you please keep your swap merchandise mid-century or automotive related.

We have mini-bike drag races on the dirt track. All bikes will be inspected by a professional. For safety’s sake, we reserve the right to suspend mini-bikes on the show grounds during peak hours.

This year will feature a traditional pin-up contest on the bandshell on Saturday afternoon.

Entertainment will be spread throughout the grounds. Our main acts will be in the dance hall and on the bandshell all weekend long.

New this year! Pinewood derby - Come race your car on our vintage wooden track. We are going to be running two classes. One will be Boy Scouts of America rules and the other will be unlimited.

We are fortunate to have a great time here. Not everyone can be as fortunate, so this year we plan to give back to the community with charitable donations. Check our Facebook page for details.

Come hungry! The UTC provides plenty of food and drinks for all ages. In addition, we will have other food vendors. PBR will be flowing throughout the grounds. $1 per cup & $5 pitchers! Photo ID required. No carry-ins allowed on the show grounds. This will be strictly enforced.

The Symco Hotrod & Kustom Weekender staff is grateful for all the friendships that we have formed here over the years. We are also proud to have contributed to the thousands of others that were formed here on the show grounds. As we move forward, we anticipate thousands more to be formed. We felt this event was extremely special, and did not want to see it end. Therefor the show must go on! Thanks to the efforts of the UTC and hotrodders alike, we are now UNITED. We’d like to thank everyone for your continuing support with this event! See you all August 12th and 13th 2016!
